Built for how boats actually get run
Not a notes app with a boat theme. The parts that are hard to get right — the engine meter, crew permissions, cash handed to a captain — are the parts that got the most attention.
An engine meter that reconciles
Every hour is an entry in an append-only ledger, not a number you overwrite. Edit or delete a voyage and every reading after it re-derives, so the meter always agrees with the trips behind it.
Crew access, page by page
Invite a captain to the logbook and petty cash but not the expense tracker. Grants are enforced in the database by row-level security, not hidden in the interface.
Attendance with provenance
Every punch records who entered it and when the server received it. A self-recorded shift is flagged as such, so a timesheet cannot quietly rewrite itself.
Petty cash that balances
Hand a float to the captain and see it drawn down purchase by purchase. Each transaction mirrors into expenses once — no double-counting, no separate rollup to maintain.
Maintenance by date or by hours
Service reminders that fire on a calendar date or an engine-hour threshold, with rolling intervals for recurring work, and before/after photos attached to the job.
